Here are a just few great journalism proposals on Kickstarter which span a wide range of voices. Do your part and pledge your support to any or all of these campaigns! If there’s a Kickstarter campaign which focuses on journalism, please let us know!
Outer Voices Podcast
Did you know that only 10% of all news in the U.S. is international? The Outer Voices Podcast seeks to change this by creating a podcast to focus on under-reported international stories. The weekly podcast will also include an accompanying website for podcast archives, and an online forum for users to interact with the Outer Voices Podcast team.
Radio Ambulante
Radio Ambulante is an exciting new project that seeks to tell compelling human stories around Latin American and the U.S. The Radio Ambulante Team includes award-winning journalists, producers, and entrepreneurs. Currently, they are producing three episodes with a range of stories from New York to Montevideo. Think of it as storytelling along the likes of This American Life, Snap Judgment, and Radiolab, but in Spanish.
The Independent Voice Project
Lifelong broadcast journalist Jim Parisi has noticed a problem with modern news: too much sensationalism and not enough parity. To that end, he has created the Independent Voice Project to encourage more transparency and truth in talk shows, news, and all forms of media. Through the project, Parisi wants to form a small team of journalists and create a daily live web series.
